170 Riders challenge the fastest Icebreaker course in 17 years.

Mike Garrigan and Laura Bietola scorched the long course of the Icebreaker with record times. Great trail conditions with only a few arctic dismounts made for a super fast course.  Angry Johnny's took the new team challenge in the 25 km race. The sprint race of 10km contested by high school teams brought out 10 brave souls ,providing a great early season high school challenge. With many surrounding communities north of Uxbridge receiving snow less riders showed up for Canada's Oldest mountain bike season opener.. In Uxbridge the snow held off until the early hours on the Monday after the race bringing over 15cm of wet snow to the Durham Forest. Hope to see you next year for Icebreaker 19.  Lemond Poster Winner; Greg Hall from Peterborough, Congratulations.
